Review

Die Hard is a 127 minute action-packed film, based on the novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp. It sees John McClane (Bruce Willis) fight off an array of terrorists, including Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman). Originally, the studio did not have faith in Willis' acting abilities and attempted to cast anyone else in the role, however we are glad the studio finally saw sense because Die Hard would not have been the classic it is today without the chemistry between Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman. Despite the film only being made on a budget of 28 million - it is no surprise that it went on to gross over 140 million in theatres alone as every sequence is packed full of action, character development and a constantly evolving plot that draws the audience in and never lets go. Overall, Die Hard is a classic film that should be watched by any action genre fan.

Comments:

Die Hard is a hard acting, action packed, thriller. I take my metaphorical hat off to Director John McTiernan and the cast of Die Hard...the film starts slow and picks up pace ending in a crescendo that leaves the audience on the edge of their seat - begging for more. Overall, Die Hard is a classic piece of cinematography that deserves it place in history as one of the greatest action movies ever made.
