Review

3 Days to Kill sounded confusing on paper with a concept that sees Ethan Renner (Kevin Costner) an experienced CIA operative leave the Agency after a failed mission to capture an arms trafficker known as the 'Albino'. Only to be recalled to service after a CIA agent, known as Vivi, discovers that Ethan is dying and he knows what the 'Wolf', the boss of the 'Albino', looks like. However, in practice, the confusing nature of the story was only a small part of what was wrong with this film. The film consistently displayed poor acting from every cast member (main and supporting), the storyline failed to draw the audience in, and the 'illness' that was killing Ethan is never fully explained nor is the drug, which could save him. Overall, 3 Day to Kill overpromises and under delivers, it is a film plagued with mistakes and should be avoided at all cost.

Comments:

This film left me truly dissatisfied - with its lacklustre story, lack of any comprehensive character development and poor acting I was hoping for the end...just minutes into the film. This coupled with the main villain never being made to be menacing, repetitive 'comedy' sequences stemming from father / daughter problems and Ethan (Kevin Costner) blacking out during every climatic scene made this a film that I wish had 3 days to kill.

Comments:

I think the Director (McG) must have got confused when directing this film. A film title should never describe how long it takes the average viewer to get through the film. If you are bored and have '3 days to kill' then watch this film, otherwise avoid it. This film is the worst Kevin Costner film I can recall seeing, the acting was poor, the action sequences were dreadful and the father / daughter scenes were about as convincing as this film was at being any good.
