Review
Direction JJ Abrams supported by Chris Pine, who plays Kirk, and Zackary Quinto, who plays Spock, have rebooted the Star Trek franchise with a fast paced, dynamic and thoroughly entertaining story. JJ Abrams has brought new life to the ageing franchise by directing an instant sci-fi classic. Star Trek starts off with a big action sequence that immediately draws in the audience and never lets go, especially as the action is beautifully supported with great dialogue, unbelievable special effects and actors whom literally exude chemistry. Overall, the entire cast and crew should be proud of this production, as the film is a masterpiece of cinematography that appeases die-hard fans of the Star Trek franchise, with subtle references to past events, while still remaining accessible and entertaining to newer audiences just getting into the franchise.

Rebooting a franchise is one of those ideas that can either work extremely well or fail dramatically. In this case, JJ Abrams and his cast manage to pull it off. Star Trek is a visually stunning, explosive action / sci-fi film that brings the franchise into the modern era, redefines the series and leaves the older films / series, like the Kobayashi Maru, utterly defeated.
