Review
Sanctum starts slow and initially introduces some lifeless characters, that are easily forgettable. However, these notions are quickly dispatched when the action starts. As Sanctum morphs into a suspenseful and gripping tale of a father and son fighting for survival against the odds, that utilises breath-takingly beautiful underwater cave scenes and powerful acting by the main cast who constantly have the audiences full attention. Overall, Sanctum's storyline takes the audience on a roller-coaster of emotions, that has more twists and turns then the underwater cave labyrinth Frank (Richard Roxburgh) and Josh McGuire (Rhys Wakefield) are attempting navigate. While Sanctum is an unusual film, it is worthwhile piece of cinematography that should be watched by anyone who wants a unique, heart-wrenching thrill ride that will stay with them long after the credits have rolled.

Based on true events, Sanctum blew me away with its emotional acting and its special effects. Its story is the most original I have seen in a long while, the film beautifully depicts the good, and bad that can come from a life or death situation. The film is both highly enjoyable, gripping and will leave a lasting impression on the audience.

Sanctum is a film that took me by surprise, on the surface it sounded like just another adventure survival film but when I went deeper (no pun intended) and watched the film I was embroiled in a gripping story that was perfectly supported by spectacular special effects and good acting.
