Review

The Day After Tomorrow is a cataclysmic, apocalyptic, ominous film that puts humanity in its place and shows the awesome, destructive capability of Mother Nature. The Day After Tomorrow is, essentially, split into two halves. The film starts rather slowly with Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) attempting to educate world leaders that unless a radical change is made, under the Kyoto Accord, humanity will face another Ice Age, little does anyone know it will happen ‘the day after tomorrow’. As world leaders fail to heed the warnings, the film picks up considerable pace as it moves into its second half. As Mother Nature goes on a destructive rampage throughout the world, plunging it into a new Ice Age, Jack Hall is forced to rescue his son, Sam (Jake Gyllanhaal), from New York City – which Mother Nature now has in her crosshairs. Overall, the Day After Tomorrow is an entertaining, action-packed, dramatised account of what humanity could actually face. It features exceptional acting, stunning visual effects, and a storyline so chilling you will be frozen to the spot while watching it.

Written and Directed by Ronald Emmerich, who is best known for Independence Day, comes another fast paced, exciting and suspenseful film which features both stunning visual effects and memorable acting by both the main and support casts. This film showcases what could theoretically happen 'the day after tomorrow'.

Comments:

The Day After Tomorrow is not just an entertaining and action-packed film, it is a shockingly realistic look at what could theoretically happen or will happen, depending on which climatologist you believe. This film combines an exceptional cast of talented actors, such as, Jake Gyllanhaal and Dennis Quaid, with memorable lines, such as, "Sir, I am president of the Electronics Club, the Math Club, and the Chess Club. Now if there's a bigger nerd in here, please... point him out," to create a film that is both a pleasure to watch and a scary reality check that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
