Review

After shaking the pillars of Christianity in his first outing in the Da Vinci Code, it seemed only fair to allow Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) to return to make amends by saving the church and shaking the pillars of Science in Angels & Demons. The decision to create a second Robert Langdon film was courageous as most sequels fail. However, Angels & Demons blows this rule away, similar to the water in St. Peters after an Anti-Matter explosion. Director Ron Howard and the cast and crew of Angels & Demons have created a masterpiece of film, set around a slightly far-fetched but non-the-less enjoyable storyline that once again will have the audience questioning their own beliefs and attempting to solve the films many puzzles. Overall, the backdrop of the Vatican, Sede Vancte and the Preferiti were brave choices for Dan Brown, but this book to film adaption pulls it off and leaves the audience thoroughly entertained and wanting more. Ron Howard and Dan Brown have created a must see instant classic with this film that the audience will hail as a shining star at the end of the path of illumination for many years to come.

Comments:

Another pulse pounding adaptation of Dan Browns work. Director Ron Howard has, once again, constructed an ingenious game of cat and mouse that left me in anticipation throughout the film. This film shows that no matter how many times religion is questioned it returns more powerful than ever before. Overall, this film is an absolute delight to watch - especially with great acting from Tom Hanks and Ewan McGregor.

Comments:

Director Ron Howard and Tom Hanks have done it again. The second outing of Robert Langdon is as good if not better than their first (Da Vinci Code). Angels & Demons starts in a similar fashion to its predecessor but then takes a red-hot poker to it by picking up the pace as Robert Langdon, the Vatican Police and the Illuminati race through Rome in a thrilling, action packed game of murder, intrigue, and symbolism, which will tease and please any audience.
