RoboCop (2014)

RoboCop is an action sci-fi film that is set in Detroit in the year 2028. In this city ruled by crime and moral decadence, Police Officer Alex Murphy is taking the city back by investigating a major crime ring. However, when Murphy is critically wounded in the line of duty OmniCorp seizes the chance to turn Murphy into a part man, part machine RoboCop.

Review

RoboCop is a crime fighting, action packed remake of the 1987 classic. It takes a taser to the original and leaves it barely alive in the OmniCorp waste basket. Gary Oldman (Dr. Dennett Norton) and Joel Kinnaman (Alex Murphy / RoboCop) put on a fantastic display as they attempt to clean up crime ridden streets of Detriot. The films new storyline, new black exoskeleton and new special effects make this film an instant classic.

An absolute thrilling and fantastic remake of the original, 1987, RoboCop. This film contradicts the long held belief that remakes are always worse than the original; it was a thoroughly enjoyable adaptation and is clearly one of the best films of 2014.

This film blew me away, the cast and crew clearly worked hard to create a film that surpassed the original. This rendition of RoboCop keeps you hooked from start to finish and leaves you wanting more...my only criticism of the film is the limited use of the classic 1987 'RoboCop' theme tune.
