What would you do if your child goes missing? It is a question every parent has considered and feared but is one that Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) must face in this thriller. Prisoners is a blockbuster that could of been ripped straight out of the pages of a Police Missing Persons file, it is believable, entertaining, sometimes scary and full of subtle plot twists that will keep the audience guessing right until the films end. Further to this, Prisoners will take the viewers on a journey centered around the emotional state of Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) as his six year old goes missing that will ultimately leave the audience on the edge as they wonder if Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) will find Dover's daughter and leaves them questioning what they would do in the same dilemma.

Superb and dramatic acting makes this one of the best films I have seen in a long while, with constant plot twists and an immersive story you are easily drawn into this epic tale of how far a father will go to find his kidnapped daughter.

This film left a lasting impression and made me question - how far would I go to reunite my family? This film, like the chemistry between the actors, is one that surprised from the opening sequence...it was a film that I did not, originally, have high hopes for but I am pleased to say I was wrong and it is a film I would happily watch again.
